Last year, when Brett Favre was with the New York Jets, he faced against Kurt Warner and the Arizona Cardinals for a record-setting shootout which the Jets won. One lowlight of the game was the brutal hit to Cardinals receiver Anquan Boldin in a last-second, meaningless desperation throw by Warner. Here’s the video to remind you if you forgot.
This time, Favre is in a Vikings uniform, but the tradition of horrible injuries against the Cardinals continues. Here’s Viking linebacker E.J. Henderson getting his leg broken by one of his teammates, obviously not on purpose. Do not watch if you have a poor gag reflex or are faint of heart. I don’t want to be responsible for passed out people at libraries and coffee shops (that’s where I’m assuming you’re reading this from).
Nice play on words, Al Michaels. If you missed it the first time, don’t worry: the guy who made the video replays it about 10 times. What a terrible injury for Henderson, and rumors are that it could be career-ending. If you look at it yourself, it would be absolutely remarkable to recover from a break like that. Eric Wood, your injury is now the second worst this season.
[...] If you’d like a bout of uncontrolled vomiting this morning, here’s E.J. Henderson of the Arizona Cardinals breaking his femur. [Second-String Fullback] [...]
Wow. I forgot how hard Eric Smith hit Anquan Boldin. Did you check out how he fell, like he was out on his feet, then gravity just took over.
