It seems like every week now, Terrell Owens makes sure to get some beat reporter all pumped up about a quote that he can build a sidebar around, but that isn’t unusual to expect from a player like Owens.

This week, with the Bengals playing the Jets? Owens called Darrelle Revis an “average” cornerback and a “slouch.”

I can honestly say it was only a matter of time until Chad Ochocinco got his own cereal. His new teammate, Terrell Owens, had his own cereal (called “TOs”) in Buffalo, and I bet he put the idea in Ochocinco’s huge head that someone would like to eat food with his face on the box.

When I hear about football players getting arrested for stupid fights, I always hope that they learn their lesson after the first time. I truly do. Cedric Benson is helping critics’ arguments that some players are just always going to be in trouble.

Benson was arrested for an assault (surprise, outside of a bar) that happened last month. NBC Sports:

Cedric Benson has been arrested and charged with assault for an altercation at a bar on May 30, according to the Austin American-Statesman.
Officials say that Benson got into a fight around 1:50 a.m. with an unknown person inside a bar in Austin, Texas. He allegedly was being escorted out of the bar when he punched a bar employee in the face and then the affidavit says Benson spit blood from his injured lip at an employee.

By now you must have heard at least a quick mention of Chicago Bears defensive end Gaines Adams, and his untimely death from cardiac arrest at the age of 26. It’s an incredibly sad story, like all premature deaths, but there hasn’t been a lot of news on Adams himself, who had only been in the league for a few seasons and was not famous or infamous for his skill or outside life, besides admitting that he used marijuana the year he entered the NFL Draft. The fact that there isn’t a lot to write about him shows how young he was and how much of his career can never be played. There’s another part of this situation that I want to talk about too, however.

Right now Chad Ochocinco is trying to blink away tears on his haggard face as he talks about his memories. It’s absolutely heartbreaking.

“He’s been doing everything right,” he pleads, as if to try and get back the fallen wide receiver, who died after falling out of the bed of a pickup truck.

“He’s been doing everything right.”

I guess I would. The hours seem reasonable. It’s better than the last NFL daycare I tried out. Braylon Edwards’ Daycare went and made my kid retarded. They should have a cushioned floor there.

Welcome to my first edition picking a few games against the spread.  Most of the time when I bet on NFL games, I prefer a four line parlay, so that’s what I will be picking in this column.  All lines in this column are via centsports.com, because they let me bet for free, which is really handy when you’re in college and don’t have extra income to be wasting on parlay cards.

There’s a distinct possibility that the Cincinnati Bengals might pick up Larry Johnson some time very soon.

Seriously. I really can’t hate them, and I’m not sure why.

Man, it seems like every couple of days there’s a post on something Chad Ochocinco said on his Twitter, huh? I’ll try to minimize that stuff, but I couldn’t resist this gem. OGOchoCinco offers up some commentary on the Yankees-Blue Jays brawl from last night.

Steroids? What a witty barb, Ochocinco! No one ever makes jokes about that! Genius! It’s not like any Bengals players are involved in that sort of behavior! Nope, all the Cincinnati players stay out of trouble and keep their noses clean! They have a great history of ethics and conduct, and only bring in the finest players!

Keep setting that golden standard, Cincinnati!
